Elopements
Yosemite National Park is a breathtakingly beautiful location to exchange vows and elope. The stunning granite cliffs, waterfalls, and meadows make for a picturesque backdrop for an intimate wedding ceremony. If you’re considering eloping in Yosemite National Park, here are some important steps to take:
1. Obtain a marriage license
Before you can legally elope in Yosemite National Park, you’ll need to obtain a marriage license from the County Clerk’s office in California. Both parties will need to be present to apply for the license, and you’ll need to bring identification and pay the fee. The marriage license is valid for 90 days, so plan accordingly.
2. Choose a ceremony location
Yosemite National Park offers several stunning locations for wedding ceremonies, including Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point, and Tuolumne Meadows. Some locations require a permit or reservation, so be sure to check with the National Park Service in advance. Also, keep in mind that certain areas may be closed due to weather or other reasons, so always have a backup plan in place.
